Tulsi Gabbard Claims ‘Russiagate’ Whistleblowers Are Stepping Forward: “There Must Be Indictments”
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced that whistleblowers from the U.S. intelligence community are coming forward with claims about efforts to undermine Donald Trump after his 2016 election win.
Speaking on Sunday Morning Futures, Gabbard said newly released internal documents have motivated former intelligence officials to speak out about what she described as a coordinated plan by the Obama administration to discredit Trump.
“These whistleblowers were deeply disturbed by what they witnessed,” Gabbard said, adding that they seek justice, just like the American public.
The documents, which Gabbard made public days earlier, allegedly reveal attempts by top officials to falsely link Trump’s campaign to Russia—allegations central to the “Russiagate” investigation.
Gabbard said all materials will be submitted to the Department of Justice, as part of what she calls a push for truth and accountability within government institutions.
She emphasized the need for criminal indictments, asserting that any individuals involved in what she labeled a “treasonous conspiracy”—regardless of their power or past positions—must face consequences.
The issue revives debate around Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation, which questioned FBI conduct but led to few legal outcomes. Gabbard’s statements, and her appointment under Trump’s second term, point to a renewed effort to challenge the 2016–2017 intelligence narrative as political tensions rise ahead of the 2026 midterms.
