White House Release
The White House has released results from Donald Trump’s recent physical exam, showing the 78-year-old in “excellent health,” according to his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella. Trump reportedly lost around 30 pounds since 2022 due to dietary improvements. His five-hour checkup at Walter Reed included blood work, cardiac and neurological tests, and ultrasounds. He scored a perfect 30/30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, showing no signs of depression, anxiety, or cognitive decline. Barbabella stated Trump has strong physical and mental function and is fully capable of performing his presidential duties.
Despite this, Dr. Daniel Atkinson of Treated.com expressed concern about possible underlying conditions, such as diabetes, which can cause weight fluctuations in older adults. He noted that someone in Trump’s position and age may face increased health risks, including heart and kidney disease. The president takes medication for cholesterol and heart health and uses a topical cream for rosacea. Other health notes included minor sun damage, a benign colon polyp, and past COVID-19. Trump said he felt “in very good shape” and mentioned his doctors gave him minor lifestyle advice. He also credited his mobility and joint health to his golf activity.
