Why Trump is now under pressure from the 25th Amendment after claims of a removal plan

California Representative Maxine Waters delivered a fierce rebuke of Donald Trump, warning that his leadership poses serious dangers for the nation’s future.

During an appearance on MSNBC, Waters criticized Trump’s management of the government and called for urgent measures to remove him from power. She even urged the use of the 25th Amendment to declare him unfit for office.

Waters accused Trump of seeking control over the Federal Reserve, claiming he wants to dictate interest rates and surround himself with compliant board members. She described this as “the makings of a dictator” and said such control would be extremely dangerous.

The congresswoman argued that Trump’s economic agenda could destabilize the entire system and insisted that aggressive action was needed to protect democracy.

Rejecting reliance on the courts, Waters pressed the cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment. “It’s time to determine his unfitness,” she said. “We must act before irreversible harm is done.”

Her remarks echoed past criticisms of Trump’s foreign policy. After Iran launched attacks in June, Waters warned that Trump was dragging the U.S. closer to war, stressing that he was reckless and undermining peace efforts. She urged Congress to push for diplomacy instead of conflict.

Trump, however, defended his decisions, boasting that recent U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities were a “spectacular success.” He claimed the attacks crippled key parts of Iran’s program and said the mission aimed to eliminate the threat from what he called the world’s top state sponsor of terrorism.
